Vergys is seeking a highly skilled and experienced consulting professional to join us as a ServiceNow Developer for a long-term, full-time opportunity supporting a Federal contract. This mostly remote role will see you play a pivotal part in implementing ServiceNow applications, providing expert technical insight, and ensuring alignment with service management best practices. You will be responsible for developing application solutions from conceptual designs and taking ownership of the ServiceNow platform's development, administration, documentation, and technical support while focusing on delivering innovative and effective technical solutions. 

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing ServiceNow applications and provide technical insight while adhering to service management best practices.
  • Implement application solutions based on conceptual design requirements; engage in development, administration, documentation, and technical support of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Configure and customize the ServiceNow system, including workflows.
  • Utilize scripting tools and ServiceNow functionalities to automate routine tasks.
  • Receive specifications from the IT ServiceNow Manager and deliver products/releases that meet the presented needs.
  • Load, manipulate, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems; develop test plans and deployment strategies; conduct system and integration testing.
  • Install and test vendor-provided updates and new releases; communicate ServiceNow processes, operations, and capabilities effectively to all levels of management.
  • Execute ServiceNow implementation tasks, including custom programming, configuration, integration, and maintenance.
  • Take ownership of complex business requirements and drive them to completion; provide architectural controls and impact analyses for new requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, such as consolidating similar solution needs.
  • Partner with team leads to implement technical best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Research and remain current on ServiceNow products and applicable integrated technologies; create and maintain a detailed overview of the ServiceNow architecture.
  • Align ServiceNow platform capabilities with established business strategies; assist in estimating release levels of effort.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Successful candidates should possess high professionalism, value quality, and demonstrate adaptability and strong initiative while meeting the following qualifications and requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience/expertise).
  • 5 years of experience in the development, implementation, administration, and configuration of ServiceNow or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in ITIL and IT Service Management Solutions within IT Infrastructure, with expertise in the ITSM suite.
  • Strong working knowledge of ServiceNow components: Scripting, Service Desk, Change Management, Incident Management, Asset Management, Problem Management, CMDB, Knowledge Management, and Service Request Management.
  • Confidence, creativity, and strong entrepreneurial drive.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to translate conversations into actionable points (e.g., meeting notes, action items, documentation).
  • Strong communication skills: reading and interpreting documents, writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively before groups.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects and a flexible work schedule.
  • Ability to work individually and cooperatively in a team environment, with a willingness to share knowledge.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Certified SNOW Application Developer
  • Microsoft O365 cloud instances
  • SCCM package deployment and reporting
  • Experience reading Bigfix reports and helping with remediation efforts
